The Great Debate: The Result

Those of you who already read the blog on my wife's and my blog already know what the outcome was because of the post on my birthday, but I figured I would give those who have seen the debate on here all the details.

The end result came down to what I figured was the major factor in this whole debate: cost. Unfortunately at that point, the Playstation 3 was out of contention (don't worry, all hope isn't lost as you'll see down below). At that point, it came down to strength. Simply put, my wife wanted to know which system I would prefer: the Xbox 360 or the Nintendo Wii. Of course I had been doing my research on both systems (during my free time of course....I'm not that much of a loser), and seeing the games available, as well as the strength of the system itself, the choice was easy.

Sitting in my living room now is my very own Xbox 360 Arcade version. And of course, I am happy with having this system. I've played this system almost every day, and already have a few great games to play. With the system I got Sega Superstars Tennis and an Xbox Arcade compilation. SST is a decent game, and the AC provides a lot of general fun with some challenging games. The first game I received was Fight Night Round 3. I've had a lot of fun with this one, and already run through the career mode once as Jake LaMotta, my favorite fighter in the game. Three more games got added to my collection as well: Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Gears of War, and Dead Rising. MK vs. DC was the only game currently that was worth paying full price for, and will probably be the game I seriously play over the next few days. GOW and DR were both very cheap but very popular, and give me something completely different to play. Overall, I got a great system with some great games to start, and I have others on my wanted list as well as some to look forward to.

Now then, where does this leave the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3? I have mulled over this for a little bit, and unfortunately there is no intention for me to get a Nintendo Wii. It offers some great games, but they're games better suited to play with friends, and several friends have these games. Needless to say, I won't be missing out. As for the Playstation 3, I must admit I'm still a little smitten with this one. There are some very cool games I would like to play, but the cost doesn't warrent an immediate purchase. So I've resolved to wait until the system becomes more affordable (less than $300 ideally), and when the money is available, that system will be mine as well. And that's all there is to it.

Well, I guess I'll have to make some more posts on here. Even though the event was last night, tomorrow I'll look to recap UFC 95 as it was worthwhile set of fights. Looking at the clock right now, I can see there's plenty of time left in the day to find entertainment. The Oscars are tonight, so that may be worth checking out. There's also a Nascar race on tonight as well. There's plenty more available to you I'm sure. Wait a minute.......why am I giving you suggestions? You know what entertains you, so you decide and work on that right now.
